Evidence Not Forthcoming

In some claims, liability may be admitted but medical evidence is delayed, incomplete, or not forthcoming, preventing claims from progressing despite reasonable requests.

Where this occurs, Dr Watson can provide clinically-led support to assist in resolving evidential deadlock, ensuring that claims are progressed on the basis of evidence rather than prolonged uncertainty or delay.

In practice, the involvement of an independent medical reviewer and the prospect of contemporaneous medical records being subject to clinical review often results in the medical evidence being provided without further escalation.

Any clinical review of underlying records is undertaken:

  • By an independent doctor

  • With strict confidentiality safeguards

  • Limited to matters relevant to the indexed injury and recovery

  • With outputs shared on a transparent and proportionate basis

The objective is evidential clarity — whether achieved through disclosure of medical evidence or, where necessary, clinically-justified review of underlying records.
